ATLANTA, Sept. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- For thousands of Americans across the southeast, fall represents all that is right with the world: the kick-off of college football season. With some of the most passionate fans in the country, college football means more than just attending or watching a game – it's a full-on, unforgettable experience for the senses that brings out the best in fandom – and this year Bud Light is giving these dedicated fans 21 and older another reason to celebrate with the Bud Light Down South Tailgate Tour.
Throughout the fall, the Tour will make stops at 11 of the most exciting games taking place across the southeast to provide this unique breed of fan with the ultimate game day experience that embraces four passion points of tailgating: ice-cold Bud Light, fun games, team spirit and great food.
"College football in the south has a deeper meaning for fans, one that goes beyond just cheering for their schools and players," said Colleen Kelly, Anheuser-Busch regional marketing director. "It's a core part of who they are and what they represent, and Bud Light is going to be right there alongside them this season to provide a tailgate experience that celebrates their dedication, commitment and passion."
The Bud Light Down South Tailgate Tour won't be your usual tailgate, just like southern college football fans aren't your typical type of fan. The Tour will feature a 53-foot double-wide trailer that converts into a stage for musical entertainment which will be a mix of local and national talent. A custom furnished sports bar stocked with Bud Light will be a show-stopper, decked out with carefully curated décor for each stop along the way. Not to be missed will be a picnic area featuring local food favorites from each college town, a staple for any fan's game day plan. Throughout the pregame festivities, Bud Light will reinforce a responsible drinking message, encouraging fans 21 and older to make the right call and drink responsibly.
The Bud Light Down South Tailgate Tour kicks off on Friday, September 9 with a two-day tailgate extravaganza at Bristol Motor Speedway® for the Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol, featuring the University of Tennessee vs. Virginia Tech game on Saturday, September 10. Bud Light was recently announced as the Official Domestic Beer Sponsor of the inaugural event, expected to smash the existing world record for the largest American football game. The tailgate will feature a series of performances on the Bud Light Stage by country music stars Sam Hunt, Jon Pardi, Dalton & the Sheriffs and Alyssa Micaela.
