BURLINGTON, Vt., Sept. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- This September, Bruegger's Bagels is proud to partner with Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign and thousands of restaurants nationwide to raise awareness and funds to help end childhood hunger in the United States.

Starting Sept. 11, guests can purchase coupon books for $5, with 100 percent of the proceeds being donated to the campaign, at every one of more than 300 Bruegger's Bagels bakeries. Each $5 purchase helps provide a child with up to 50 nutritious meals. Guests can redeem the coupons for free bagels, soups or sandwiches (some with purchase) through November, a value of more than $25.
To kick off the fundraiser, the first 25 guests at each bakery who purchase a $5 coupon book and one of Bruegger's Bagels' top-selling Big Bagel Bundles (a baker's dozen and two 6.5-ounce tubs of cold-packed cream cheese) will also receive a free No Kid Hungry tote bag.
"Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign gives us all the chance to help end childhood hunger in America," said Bruegger's Bagels Director of Marketing Judy Kadylak. "Share Our Strength works to ensure kids who are struggling with hunger in this country get the nutritious food they need where they live, learn and play, and we're proud to be part of the solution."
Bruegger's Bagels and its guests have played a vital role in Share Our Strength's mission to end childhood hunger since 2010. In 2013, the chain became a No Kid Hungry partner, committing to fundraising at least $150,000 for the cause. Last year, No Kid Hungry raised $5.9 million nationally in September to connect kids in need to programs including School Breakfast and Summer Meals, support advocacy efforts, and educate kids and their families on how to cook healthy meals with limited resources.
"Everyone – private citizens, businesses, policymakers, and nonprofits -- has a role in helping end childhood hunger in America," said Billy Shore, founder and CEO of Share Our Strength®. "I encourage everyone to dine out often at participating restaurants wherever they are this September. Then visit NoKidHungry.org to join this national movement to ensure that every child in America has access to the nutritious food they need, every day."
