Bright Horizons Awarded Seal of Distinction From Alliance for Work/Life Progress for Second Straight Year
WATERTOWN, Mass., Jan. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Bright Horizons Family Solutions®, a leading provider of employer-sponsored child care, early education, and work/life solutions, today announced that it has been awarded the Work-Life Seal of Distinction from WorldatWork's Alliance for Work-Life Progress (AWLP) for the second straight year.
AWLP created the Seal of Distinction in 2012 as a way to recognize employers who demonstrate leadership in workplace strategies and practices that allow employees to achieve success at work and in their personal lives.
"The well-being of our employees and their ability to thrive at work while also managing their personal and family responsibilities has always been core to our mission. You can't be fully present or productive in your job if you are constantly distracted and stressed by the obligations you have outside of work. This is true of the employees in our organization and in organizations in every industry," said Bright Horizons Chief Executive Officer David Lissy. "We are proud to be recognized among so many other progressive employers who, like us, are seeking to support employees through both proven and innovative ways."
Since 2011, Bright Horizons® has surveyed its employees to measure employee well-being. The annual study helps the organization to gain a better understanding of what pressures employees face both professionally and personally, and how those stressors impact their day-to-day lives both at work and at home. Results have shown that employee well-being exponentially multiplies workforce potential.
Organizations that were considered for the AWLP Seal of Distinction were evaluated based on: the breadth and depth of their work-life portfolio, and had to provide evidence of their support in areas spanning dependent care, health and wellness, workplace flexibility, financial support, paid and unpaid time off, community involvement and efforts to transform organizational culture.
