BOULDER, Colo., Dec. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Lawbooth, an online marketplace for legal advice, announced their recent rebrand and revealed a redesigned company website. Formerly Congo.io, the Boulder-based tech startup will continue to serve as an online platform for individuals seeking legal advice to schedule time with an attorney and connect via video chat for free under the new brand.

In late October, co-founders Willy Ogorzaly and Tyler Cox announced the decision to host a contest to identify a new company name. Rather than paying $750,000 for a .com domain name they opted to go through the process of rebranding. The contest, which offered individuals the opportunity to submit name suggestions for the chance to win $1,000, received more than 700 submissions.
"We couldn't be more excited about our rebrand to Lawbooth.com," said Willy Ogorzaly. "It wasn't a process we initially expected to undergo, but we are happy with the outcome and glad to have saved $750,000 to continue building a platform that will help those in need of legal advice."
The only contest requirement was that the URL associated with the submission needed to be a .com domain name available for less than $3,000. A separate, 5-day contest was held for suggestions around a new logo to incorporate on the redesigned website.
While considering the contest submissions, the team conducted an exercise that led them to Lawbooth.com, which felt like a perfect fit. The URL Lawbooth.com was also available for $1,780, a significantly more cost-effective domain name for the tech startup.
"In the end, our final decision on the new name didn't come to us from the contest," said co-founder Tyler Cox. "But we are grateful for all of the submissions we received as they contributed to us ultimately finding our new brand name. So instead of keeping the $1,000 for ourselves we decided to donate it to a few of our favorite nonprofits."
Lawbooth turned to their supporters to vote on how to allocate the $1,000 donation between four charities that included:
Lawbooth will make the allocated donation to each charity by the end of the year.
