24 delicious chicken wings in a one-of-a-kind mini beer case now available nationwide
MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 1, 2015 /CNW/ - Don't be fooled by the date or Boston Pizza's early morning announcement, there is big news from the company today: the Wings Two-Four has landed. An innovative new way to serve up Boston Pizza's famous wings, the Wings Two-Four is inspired by classic beer case design and holds 24 chicken wings. Along with new Wings packaging, Boston Pizza is introducing two sauces – Amber Ale and Spicy Samurai.
"If there's one thing Canadians know and love, it's the two-four. It's a part of our culture, especially during playoffs and summer weekends. But, until now, Canadians have never been able to eat one," said Steve Silverstone, Executive Vice President of Marketing, Boston Pizza International. "Unlike other two-fours, Canadians can crack open a Wings Two-Four virtually anywhere, anytime they want. It really is the perfect union of BP's famous wings and the ubiquitous two-four."
Ideal for sharing, Wings Two-Four is available now at Boston Pizza locations across Canada for dine-in, takeout and delivery. Guests can choose up to two of their favourite wing flavours to fill their case. Boston Pizza's famous wings are made from chickens raised in Canada and available breaded, fried, oven-roasted or All Meat Bites with signature sauce recipes such as Thai Chili, Chipotle BBQ and Salt and Pepper dry rub.
Throughout the hockey playoffs, Boston Pizza will also feature special 48-ounce hockey glove-shaped pitchers of Molson Canadian in restaurants as the perfect accompaniment to the Wings Two-Four.
A new integrated marketing campaign begins today, featuring the next Boston Pizza Fan Story television spot titled "Puck Hog." The spot is filmed using Boston Pizza's new documentary-style and showcases a recreational hockey player known for hogging the puck who redeems himself with the team by buying Wings Two-Four after the game. Other marketing activities include digital advertising targeted at hockey and basketball playoff fans, social media executions using the hashtag #BPWings24 and a PR campaign to support the launch. To keep momentum going throughout the playoffs, Boston Pizza plans to conduct experiential activations throughout the spring.
TAXI Canada created and produced the creative and designed the Wings Two-Four box, with UM executing media strategy and High Road for public relations.
