Body & Mind Medical Weight Loss Center Launches Boot Camp, Dinner & Movie Program for Overweight, Obese Patients
ONTARIO, Calif., Feb. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Recognizing the importance of physical activity to health and wellness, Body & Mind Medical Weight Loss Center (http://www.bodyandmindontario.com/) announces a one-of-a-kind luxury boot camp program for its overweight and obese patients. The program begins on February 7, and the initial session will be offered as a free trial for those not quite ready to commit. More details are available at http://www.bodyandmindontario.com/services/bootcamp/.
"Five years ago, I could not have imagined going into a traditional gym and exercising," says Dr. Tanya Scurry, founder and medical director of Body & Mind Medical Weight Loss Center. "I had the desire to be more active, but at 500 pounds, I just was not comfortable enough with my body to participate. And I know countless people are struggling with this issue right now. That's what motivated me to create this program. Ultimately, participants will feel better, sleep better and have less stress in their daily lives."
Physical activity is known to improve cardiovascular and mental health in countless ways. Indeed, it's an indispensable part of overall wellbeing. The boot camp program is just one component of Body & Mind Medical Weight Loss Center's holistic, integrated approach to human health and wellness.
The Body & Mind boot camp is open to everyone with a BMI over 30. That group may include post-partum mothers and people with chronic medical conditions that have impacted their fitness levels. In short, anyone who has ever felt excluded from the typical gym environment is more than welcome to participate. Prior to the first session, patients will receive a complimentary body composition analysis. The same analysis will be performed at the end of the program to provide tangible feedback on its positive effects.
Weekly boot camp sessions will last about one hour. Participants will receive a healthy, protein-packed dinner salad and beverages when the session ends. The purpose of the free meal, which is valued at $50, is to discourage the common and counterproductive habit of consuming lots of unhealthy calories after a strenuous workout. The boot camp setting is designed with comfort and safety as top priorities. And, with spaced limited to 6-8 participants per class for comfort, there will never be a feeling of being crowded or neglected by the instructor. After dinner, participants can enjoy a movie in one of the comfortable leather chairs that can hold up to 500 pounds.
The boot camp instructor boasts more than six years of experience helping people maximize their physical potential. Because the program is geared to obese individuals, the instructor will customize exercises to account for each participant's needs and limitations — while still providing a completely effective workout.
Those interested in signing up for the boot camp are encouraged to call 909-443-5191 or email [email protected]. Each boot camp will run for a total of four weeks. While space is limited at the moment, more sessions and times could be added based on demand.
"I will be right there sweating with every class," adds Dr. Scurry, "because I know from experience the transformative, rejuvenating power of exercise."
