BlueFocus Communication Group Announces 2016 Revenue of RMB 12.3 Billion, Becoming the First China-based Marketing Company to Earn Over RMB 10 Billion in Annual Revenue
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- BlueFocus Communication Group Co. Ltd. (BlueFocus) (SHE: 300058) published its 2016 annual report on April 26, 2017, reporting a full year revenue of RMB 12.3 billion (approximately $1.78 billion USD), up 47.58% from 2015. Net income attributable to common shareholders was RMB 640 million (approximately $92.8 million USD), up 844.84%. BlueFocus has become the first China-headquartered agency holding group with annual revenue over RMB 10 billion.
BlueFocus's revenue from digital marketing was RMB 10.1 billion (approximately $1.46 billion USD), which accounted for 82.05% of the group's total. The company has successfully completed the first phase of its transformation towards "intelligent marketing", as well as business globalization and international expansion. In addition, the year on year revenue growth from advertising services was 92.03%, which made a significant contribution to the group's 2016 revenue growth. The advertising income was mainly from its mobile advertising businesses Domob, Madhouse, and other mobile Internet services. In the digital era, BlueFocus's intelligent marketing strategy focuses on "multi-screen" and "owned media" as interactive modes of communication with high-frequency targeted impressions from multiple channels and locations.
In 2016, the group's overseas revenue grew steadily, accounting for 37.71% of the total revenue. With further development of its globalization strategy, BlueFocus has established business presences in North America, Western Europe, Southeast Asia and other developing markets, while continuing to build upon strong collaboration with domestic China-based businesses. Looking ahead, revenue from overseas operations is expected to continue growing rapidly and become an important growth engine for the group's earnings. BlueFocus's continuing overseas expansion will focus on North American markets through mergers and acquisitions. In 5 to 10 years, the group's global footprint will be fully established and the revenue from international business is expected to account for at least 50% of the group's total, with capabilities to serve Chinese and international clients in major markets globally.
Through continued global business expansion, BlueFocus has entered into the second phase of its transformation with an emphasis on synergy and integration. "In the second phase of our transformation, we will continue with the development of our core strategies of intelligent marketing and business globalization while pushing forward with innovations in new products and services as well as the integration of technology and creativity." said Oscar Zhao, chairman and CEO of BlueFocus.
