Bitdefender Adapts Leading Security Software to Latest Intel Technology
Testing shows the new Intel Atom processor based tablets leap ahead from previous generation
BUCHAREST, Romania, Dec. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Bitdefender®, producer of the world's most effective antivirus solutions, is proud to announce the successful adaptation of its leading Total Security software and other products to the cutting-edge latest Intel® Atom™ processor based tablets.
Throughout the testing, the latest generation Intel Atom processor based tablets exhibited lightning speeds, impressive performance and remarkable improvements from the previous generation. Issue-free performance confirmed the synergy between Bitdefender software and Intel's latest leap ahead in tablet technology. The Intel tablets were submitted to highly demanding testing* that proved to be issue-free, both in terms of the seamless performance of Intel technology and the iron-clad protection of Bitdefender.
"We're happy to see our products run with the same high level of standards we've seen in the design of the latest Intel tablets," said Bitdefender Chief Security Strategist Catalin Cosoi. "In many cases, the latest Intel Atom based tablets have more than doubled their performance in comparison with the prior generation, so the developments have given all an inspiring example of progress."
"Intel applauds Bitdefender's security solution's optimization for Intel Atom based tablets. Security is an essential consideration for both consumer and business users today and an essential complement to the performance and battery life advantage offered by Intel Atom based tablets," said Jan van Offeren, Intel EMEA Software Strategic Relationship Manager.
*Testing was performed in-lab by Bitdefender engineers, using the average performance results from three new generation Intel tables, based on Z3740, Z3740D and Z3770 Atom CPUs (formerly BayTrail), compared to a previous generation Intel Z2760 Atom CPU-based tablet. All systems were running Microsoft Windows 8.1 and Bitdefender Total Security 2014, both with latest updates on 2013.12.3. The tests included scanning of file collections comprising hundreds of thousands of files from the same external USB 2.0 connected SSD drive, and testing of security solution load time cycles also. The tests do not reflect exclusively the performance of the new CPUs, but are affected by overall platform performance also.
