TAMPA, Fla., May 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Bisk, the nation's leading online program management company, today announced the appointment of Carl Hixson, a leader and innovator in education technology, as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
For more than two decades, Hixson has designed and implemented digital technology solutions for global publishing and media companies, including HBO, McGraw-Hill and Pearson. Most recently, he served as CTO for SheKnows Media, a New York City-based digital media firm.
Previously, Hixson was Senior Vice President for Technology Strategy at Pearson Education, where he spearheaded the development of global digital content management platforms.
Before joining Pearson, Hixson was responsible for digital strategy, technology architecture and the development of learning management system (LMS) platforms at McGraw-Hill Companies, serving as Vice President of New Media/Digital Asset Management.

Educated at the University of California, Berkeley and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Hixson served as Executive Director of Digital Technology at HBO. He led the design and implementation of the HBO Digital Library, a digital management platform, and the development of web- and mobile-based products, including HBO GO. The New Jersey native is also the co-inventor of several patents filed by the media and entertainment company.
At Bisk, Hixson will lead the company's technology, innovation, learning design, business intelligence and product development teams. Founded in 1971, the Tampa, Fla.- based Bisk is a worldwide leader in online program management services.
