Betty Crocker Unwraps Birthday Party Resource for Home Bakers
New Online Birthday Hub Provides How-To Cake and Party Planning Support
MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- According to U.S. census data, there are more birthdays in the U.S. during September than any other time of the year. Many parents are feeling challenged this time of year by all the work that goes into hosting a memorable party for their kids.
That's why, for the first time in her history, the 94-year-old Betty Crocker is launching an online birthday resource on BettyCrocker.com. It includes many of the tips and tricks parents need to make the day special from start to finish -- from birthday breakfasts, on trend birthday themes, cake ideas, how-to videos, step-by-step instructions and cake templates to invitations, decorations and other food ideas.
The Betty Crocker team listened to thousands of moms preparing for birthday parties to better understand the hurdles and emotions they face and how Betty Crocker could help make the process easier. Betty learned that the majority of moms feel overwhelmed with party planning and have too much inspiration and not enough time and direction to execute their plan.
Based on this insight, Betty Crocker created the online one-stop-shop for party planning to make the occasion a better experience.
A highlight of the content includes how-to videos demonstrating the steps needed to make some of Betty's most popular birthday recipes -- including superhero, princess, and circus cakes as well as Bisquick™ cake batter pancakes. In addition, skill-based videos provide bakers lessons on how to color and pipe frosting, write and draw on a cake and tips on crumb coating.
"Betty has always been about providing inspiration and helping parents create memorable birthdays for their family," said Melissa Gallant, marketing manager for Betty Crocker. "As it was with her radio days in the 1920s, this online tool provides a modern way to meet those needs."
Betty is encouraging consumers to "Get Your Betty on" by baking a birthday cake and sharing their creations with #GetYourBettyOn on Twitter (@BettyCrocker), Instagram, and Facebook.
