Berman and Company Wins Seven Pollie Awards and Two Bulldog Awards in Advertising and Interactive Communications
Firm Shines in Humorous Issue Advocacy Advertising
WASHINGTON, April 26, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Public affairs firm Berman and Company (BAC) was recently honored with seven Pollie Awards and two Bulldog Awards for its work in issue advocacy advertising and creative public relations campaigns.
Each year the prestigious Pollie Awards recognize the best in political and public affairs communications. The Pollie Awards are administered by the American Association of Political Consultants, which is the world's largest organization of political and public policy professionals. The recently announced 2012 awards bring BAC's total to 68 Pollie Awards over the past 10 years.
Among BAC's Pollie winners:
Gold Award for "Best Use of Pre-roll" and Silver for "Best Use of Humour": Our "Lawyers in Cages" video, a parody of deceptive fundraising ads by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), has earned more than three million views on YouTube for exposing the true nature of HSUS, which attacks farmers while masquerading as a pet shelter organization.
Gold Award for "Best Radio For Federal Government Persuasion": The Employee Rights Act radio ad is a part of a nationwide media campaign in support of the Employee Rights Act (ERA), a piece of federal legislation that would standardize labor union practices and empower employees.
Silver Award for "Best Get Out the Vote": The "Vote Our Future" commercial highlights issues such as unemployment, growing debt, and ballooning government entitlements and encourages young people to take a stand by voting for candidates that support meaningful solutions to these mammoth problems.
The "Bulldog Awards," given by the Bulldog Reporter, a communications trade journal, highlight the best in business public relations and are judged by a panel of journalists. Over the past 10 years BAC has won over 25 of the top awards.
BAC's Bulldog winners:
Gold Award for "Best Use of Research": PETAKillsAnimals.com is a research-based website that exposes People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA) hypocritical and unnecessary killing of dogs and cats.
Silver Award for "Best Response to Breaking News": Our creative team sprang into action developing and placing the Nanny Bloomberg ad in The New York Times after it was announced New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg would ban soda over 16 ounces.
