CAMPBELL, Calif., Jan. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Nimsoft today announced that bpost, Belgium's leading postal company, has implemented the Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS) to improve operational efficiency and quality of service through a more streamlined and proactive monitoring of its IT infrastructure.
NMS integrates with bpost's existing platforms and applications, making deployment across its expansive infrastructure fast and virtually seamless. The solution will be used to proactively monitor both bpost's physical and virtual servers, as well as numerous network elements.
After a large-scale evaluation in which three companies were invited to perform a proof of concept (POC), bpost chose NMS for its service-level monitoring capabilities, customized reporting features, and extensive out-of-the-box data collection probes. NMS will replace numerous point solutions with a comprehensive set of integrated monitoring capabilities, including end-to-end monitoring of the end-user experience.
"Efficient, proactive monitoring of our IT environment and applications in a cost-effective way is essential as we seek to optimize service quality and remain price-competitive in a deregulated postal market," said Bart De Wachter, Head of ICT Infrastructure, Operations and Support at bpost. "NMS delivered everything we needed to meet our evolving IT monitoring challenges -- including ease of use, ease of deployment, integration with our existing infrastructure, reduced administrative overhead, gradual extension to business process monitoring and actual positive impact on our mean-time-to-repair."
Among its many other capabilities, NMS will enable bpost to accurately measure service responsiveness and reliability from the end-user's perspective. The added insight into the end-user experience will help bpost's IT team proactively mitigate problems and safeguard staff productivity.
"By monitoring both the health of its IT infrastructure components and the actual end-user experience, bpost can more effectively compete in a rapidly evolving postal services market that is highly dependent upon the performance of critical information systems," said Gary Read, Nimsoft CEO. "bpost's selection of Nimsoft after its extensive evaluation of alternative products underscores the superiority of our technology and our exceptional alignment with the changing needs of today's IT organizations."
