DALLAS, Oct. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Behringer Harvard announced today that two landmark office buildings, at 200 South Wacker Drive and 222 South Riverside Plaza, in Chicago have been designated BOMA 360 Performance Buildings, a recognition awarded by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International.

The BOMA 360 Performance Program is a groundbreaking building designation program that evaluates properties in six major areas: building operations and management; life safety, security and risk management; training and education; energy; environment and sustainability; and tenant relations and community involvement. The program, which benchmarks the performance of a specific property against industry standards, can help building owners and operators differentiate themselves in a demanding market.
"The BOMA 360 designation is the pinnacle in a series of steps Behringer Harvard has taken to position itself as a leading-edge owner and manager in Chicago. All five of our Loop properties have earned the BOMA 360 designation, the most of any owner in the city. This independent evaluation is proof that Behringer Harvard provides outstanding customer service and operational excellence for its properties," said Mr. Gerald Oliver, Senior Vice President of Commercial Property Management for Behringer Harvard. The three additional BOMA 360-designated office properties in Behringer Harvard's Chicago portfolio include 10 South Riverside Plaza, 120 South Riverside Plaza and One Financial Place at 440 South LaSalle Street.
"It is a landmark achievement for our management and operations teams and sets 200 South Wacker Drive apart from our market competitors," said Ms. Karen Gana of Behringer Harvard, General Manager of the 41-story office tower. Offering more than 754,000 square feet of rentable space, 200 South Wacker Drive has been an anchor of the Chicago Central Business District since 1981. The 200 South Wacker Drive building is owned by a joint venture including Equity Group Investments, L.L.C., Pearlmark Real Estate Partners, L.L.C. and Behringer Harvard.
222 South Riverside Plaza, which was acquired by Behringer Harvard in June 2006, occupies a city block and is positioned directly above Union Station, Chicago's primary hub for commuter rail. The building offers 1.2 million rentable square feet of office and retail space and enjoys a prime location on the west bank of the Chicago River in the West Loop submarket. The 222 South Riverside Plaza building is owned and managed by Behringer Harvard.
"Behringer Harvard was among the first property owners to embrace the BOMA 360 program," said Mr. Mike Reilly, Regional Vice President – Property Management of Behringer Harvard. "One of our properties in Charlotte, North Carolina, was the first in the nation to receive the designation. Now the BOMA 360 program is the standard that all Behringer Harvard properties aspire to achieve."
