"We are pleased to be in a position to support Mayor Emanuel's 'Retrofit Chicago' program at One Financial Place and Fifth Third Center," said Mike Reilly, Regional Vice President, Property Management of Behringer Harvard. The 14 commercial properties that are initially participating in Retrofit Chicago's commercial building initiative have pledged to reduce their total energy consumption by at least 20 percent over the next five years.
"The innovative Retrofit Chicago program is compatible with our ongoing commitment to enhance the sustainability of our property management programs in ways that make good business sense for our company, our tenants and the communities we serve," said Jason Mattox, COO of Behringer Harvard.
Behringer Harvard's significant presence in the Chicago market includes ownership interests in five properties comprising more than 4 million square feet of office space and 298 apartment units. In addition to One Financial Place at 440 S. LaSalle Street and Fifth Third Center at 222 S. Riverside Plaza, the firm holds interests in 200 S. Wacker Drive; Burnham Pointe, a 28-story residential tower at the corner of Polk and S. Clark Streets; and 10 & 120 S.
