- BEDGEAR® to Inspire 50,000+ Runners to Be More Awake at the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon -
FARMINGDALE, N.Y., Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- BEDGEAR® the fast-growth PERFORMANCE® lifestyle brand, announces today a multi-year partnership as the Official Pillow and Mattress Partner of the TCS New York City Marathon, starting with their return to this year's race taking place on Sunday, November 4, 2018. With more runners realizing the correlation between rest, recovery and achievement, BEDGEAR will be showcasing their best-selling products and educating runners on how to be more awake and how that helps them get ready for race day. The New York Road Runners' (NYRR) dedication to enhancing meaningful experiences for the running community is the driving force behind the continued partnership.
In its returning year, BEDGEAR will host a never-before-seen experience in the TCS New York City Marathon Expo Presented by New Balance at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, November 1st through the 3rd. The space provides BEDGEAR with a platform to inspire runners with new products and an understanding of the importance of being fit for a pillow and mattress together to build sleep reserves for the big race, as well as to maximize all of one's daily activities. BEDGEAR's Performance Sleep System® creates the ability for each individual to select personalized products to create their optimal sleep environment, which is paramount to a runner's training regimen and lifestyle overall, to ensure they wake ready to perform at their best.
At the TCS New York City Marathon Expo Presented by New Balance, BEDGEAR will fit runners for their personalized Performance Sleep System on the newly introduced M3 Launchpad, the world's first modular mattress that empowers consumers to select their comfort choice with four options of individualized support ranging from very firm to very plush. The M3's cover can be easily unzipped to reveal dual-sided, Independent Suspension™ units that provide each individual's preferred support and No More Comfort Compromise™. The M3 is the first bed with the ability to improve over time as its components have been intently designed to be modular so they may be upgraded during the life of the mattress.
"At BEDGEAR, we understand that rest and recovery is essential for athletes to reach their personal best and this partnership helps us continue our support of the running community," said Eugene Alletto, BEDGEAR Founder and CEO. "The mattress industry, as a whole is boring – at BEDGEAR, we encourage people to shake it up, wake up and make the most of every moment. As the most participatory sport in the world, running enthusiasts span every age, ethnicity and religion, of individuals who want to better their lives. After the overwhelmingly positive response we received last year, we know runners and all professional athletes recognize the need for the right gear to help them meet their goals. We look forward to delivering our Performance Sleep products to help all runners be ready for race day on November 4th."
"We are so excited to extend our partnership with BEDGEAR," said Michael Capiraso, President and CEO of the New York Road Runners. "With our commitment to provide the running community the best-in-class resources and products, BEDGEAR will improve runner's overall health and running experience."
This year, BEDGEAR created a six-person run team, which will represent the company along the renowned 26.2-mile course. The team is comprised of BEDGEAR employees and members of the media. BEDGEAR has also partnered with elite athlete and American long-distance runner, Stephanie Bruce, to support her training for her second TCS New York City Marathon. In the time leading up to the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon, BEDGEAR fit Stephanie for every layer of a personalized Performance Sleep System, as she knows the right sleep products can help give her the competitive edge.
"I am thrilled to be joining forces with BEDGEAR because as a professional runner and mom, I need to wake up with energy for the day to get my kids fed, out the door and off to their activities so I can go crush some miles," said Stephanie Bruce. "Eugene started BEDGEAR with the intention that we all have different needs to fulfill for how we sleep, but one thing is consistent amongst us: sleep leads to productivity. I want to wake up every day knowing I can get the most out of myself that day and I believe I can do that with BEDGEAR as part of my team."
BEDGEAR and Bruce's partnership comes as an easy fit – the accomplished runner crossed the Central Park finish line in tenth place last year and she's hoping to place even higher in 2018 with the help of BEDGEAR. Bruce will race the TCS New York City Marathon on November 4, joining a field that includes 2017 New York City Marathon winner Shalane Flanagan and 2018 Boston Marathon champion Des Linden.
