- AutoAgronom Won the Cleantech Open Israel Competition
The CleanTech Open Global Ideas Competition is the world's largest green technology competition, and it takes place in the same time in 23 countries. The competition is designed for companies that raised no more than one million dollars, that have a technology / product breakthrough in one of the following areas: energy generation, energy efficiency, water and waste, smart grid technology, energy distribution and storage, green building, and smart transportation.
The Israeli winner of the competition, AutoAgronom, ran in the finals in front of five other companies, and will represent Israel in the international competition, CleanTech Open Global Ideas Competition. It will be held as part of Global Entrepreneurship week in November 2014, in Silicon Valley.
AutoAgronom developed a new sustainable precision agriculture solution that allows growers to save up to 50% of their water, 70% of their fertilizer and increases the yield up to 30%. The solution is based on a new innovative agronomic method and tools - by measuring chemical and physical changes in the root zone. The Root Sense technology "listens" to the plants, analyzes their needs in real-time, and automatically delivers to them. AutoAgronom's technology provides the plants with the optimal growth conditions at all times throughout the growing cycle.
Noam Ilovich, VP of Business Development said after winning: "Our systems manage intensive agriculture in large commercial volumes in Israel and in other countries such as China, Spain, England, Peru, Chile, Cyprus and more. Our experience shows that significant savings can be achieved in water and fertilizer use and at the same time can increase the yields and their quality. Our main innovation is that the plants tell us what they need and when. The system learns and adapts itself to the natural growth rhythm of the plants and provides the optimal growth conditions in real-time throughout the growing cycle. Our growers achieve unparalleled economic and environmental benefits - they produce more yield with less water and fertilizers and significantly reduce aquifer and soil contamination.
AutoAgronom is the future of Sustainable Precision Irrigation.
Paulee CleanTec won the second place of the competition. The company has developed Novel technology that transforms animal and human waste into harmless fertilizer free from pathogens and bad odor.
