SAN FRANCISCO, March 6, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Bank of the West is showcasing the impact of environmental, social and technological change through an Instagram contest, #CapturetheChange, a unique competition harnessing the accessibility and ease of Instagram to highlight the unprecedented change going on in the world around us. Participants of all skill levels – from novices to professional photographers – are invited to photograph the change they see around them now, however they personally define it.
"We live in a time of incredible change," said Ben Stuart, Chief Marketing Officer at Bank of the West. "The world now barely resembles the one we knew just five, 10 or 15 years ago. #CapturetheChange is about recognizing this impact with a way to easily share those moments through Instagram with the rest of the world."
Winners will be selected by a panel of professional photographers and two Grand Prize winners will receive fully-paid three year leases on a Tesla Model S. Participants will be highlighted across Bank of the West Instagram and other social media. Submissions will be judged on three equally weighted criteria: 1) Spirit of the Contest, 2) Artistic Merit and 3) Creativity & Originality. The contest is now live and ends on March 29, 2019 at 11:59 PT.
Additional prizes will be awarded for winners in each of contest's four main categories. Those include:
- Sustainability: iPhone XS Max 512 GB
- Environmental Consciousness: Canon EOS Rebel T7i
- Energy Transition: DJI Mavic Air Photo Drone
- Green Technology: $1,000 B&H Photography Gift Card
"Through this photo challenge, we're excited to have people across our diverse footprint join us in seeing and sharing a story of change in our world," said Jenny Flores, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Bank of the West. "It's a great opportunity to harness creativity and elevate different perspectives on global transformation."

#CapturetheChange follows a previous exhibit where the Bank highlighted the installation of Pavegen across four key markets in California and Oregon that demonstrated new ways to think about energy transition. This work comes after a $1 billion financing commitment by the bank for energy transition announced last Fall.
