Baiyulan accompanied China Federation of Industry and Commerce kitchen cabinet delegation to visit KBIS 2019
LAS VEGAS, Feb. 25, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- From February 19th to February 21st , The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) was successfully held in Las Vegas. Representatives from the Chinese cabinet brand Baiyulan accompanied the cabinet delegation of the National Federation of Industry and Commerce to visit the show. They exchanged ideas with representatives of local kitchen and bath brands, dealers and the local government representatives and associations.
The founder of Baiyulan shared its globalization journey with the CFIC members
Founded in 1984, Baiyulan has focused on exporting to the North American market for more than 20 years. Its distribution network has successfully spread all over the United States. As the vice-chairman member of the new National Federation of Industry and Commerce Kitchen Cabinet Committee, Mr. Shen Zhongmin, Chairman of Baiyulan, shared his joy and testimony with the delegation.
He said: "It is an honor to be elected as the vice-chairman member of the CFIC kitchen cabinet committee. It's a recognition of Baiyulan's 35-year development. We will keep on sharing our experience in product design, technology innovation, go-green action, marketing, and talent cultivation, thereby promoting the development and upgrading of the industry."
Baiyulan is in its 36th year this year. Mr. Shen Zhongmin said, "We are a representative of Chinese enterprises going abroad. We have been constantly spurred on by the opening policy through the past years. Without the reform and opening up, without the good policies, we could not reach the achievements we have made today. We are also proud that we represents the quality of "Made in China". High-quality products, green and healthy values, technology and style make Baiyulan stand out in the overseas market and win the recognition of the world."
As a veteran of the furniture industry with extensive experience in overseas trade shows and business, Mr. Shen Zhongmin said, "Baiyulan's marketing experience in the United States will be valuable for the local brands looking for overseas development. We will be happy to help them to enter this new market. Also, today, China's domestic cabinet industry is booming, while the new generation of consumer has a more international vision and aesthetics. Bai Yulan is willing to share and exchange with the domestic enterprises in the market landscape, advanced concepts, design trends and supply chain from the United States, and make progress together with everyone."
Baiyulan will Gear Up Dual-Engine Strategy for Steady Development in China & US market
"2018 is a tough year for all enterprises, facing multiple challenges from external trade friction to internal market narrowing and fierce competition. It is critical to enhance our internal strength at this point of time," Mr. Shen Zhongmin said. "As for Baiyulan, this year we end up with a 15% overall growth against the trend. The achievement is inseparable from the confidence and support of dealers and partners, as well as the multiple actions we took so long to maintain our competitiveness such as lean management, quality focus, and business integrity."
Since 2009, Baiyulan has established a joint laboratory with Sherwin-Williams - the world's leading paints and coatings supplier. After three years of research and development, they adjusted the water paint formula and re-designed the whole production process in order to replace oil paint lacquer with water paint. It was a technological revolution, as finally they achieved the best balance of multiple paradoxical issues - good physical and chemical performance of the paint coating, cost, strong color-maintenance capacity and a relatively good varnished look. It's a milestone of the China furniture industry entering its eco-friendly "water-paint era". Baiyulan pioneered and promoted the water-paint lacquer innovation in the furniture industry in China. The cabinets produced by Baiyulan have reduced carbon footprint by 200KG per 10 square meters and obtained the world's first ECV certification. They have made practical actions for China's carbon reduction targets. The overall cabinet formaldehyde release is less than 0.0014PPM and is UL Golden Green-guard certified. This certification represents healthier and more environmentally friendly products, which are not affected by the elderly, children, pregnant women and the susceptible population. This technological innovation was initiated by Baiyulan, and developed through an in-depth cooperation in research, technology and manufacturing with the strong industry leader Sherwin-Williams from the United States. "We would like to thank Sherwin-Williams for their help in making the achievements to us and to the whole industry," Mr. Shen Zhongmin said. "The result made us outstanding and enabled us to meet the expectations of our customers and the market. "
"China and the US are the two biggest economies in the world, with high potential of sustained economic development. For the kitchen cabinet industry, there is still a huge market potential to be tapped," Mr. Shen Zhongmin said. "In 2019, Baiyulan will keep gearing up the dual-engine strategy for both China and US market development. We are happy to see the positive progress made by China and the United States in bilateral trade negotiations, which has given a reassurance to Chinese companies like Baiyulan. The United States is the major importer of Baiyulan's cabinet products, and an important exporter of raw materials for us. Baiyulan will further open up the domestic market in 2019, and will have greater demand for imported raw materials from the United States. The sound development of Sino-US bilateral relations is very important for enterprises like us."
The young team inspires the vibrancy of the brand "Magnolia", which is ready to debut at the next Kitchen & Bath Show in Shanghai in May.
"Consumption upgrade" and "Aesthetic diversity" create a new market phenomenon, and require new thinking and the new generation to participate in development. Mr. Shen Zhongmin said, "We see a lot of outstanding young people have joined the cabinet and furniture industry. Their cultural connotation, international vision and aesthetic level have brought these companies a better image and a new vitality. We should bravely embrace change, and welcome these young people to join the company's second venture. I believe that our industry will be better in the future."
The young brand director of Magnolia (a sub-brand of Baiyulan focusing on the domestic market), Shen Zhewei said that in inheriting the high quality, green and solid wood craftsmanship of the mother brand, it will focus on creating a more youthful, affordable premium for the middle-class customers.
Baiyulan launched the world's first water-based lacquer high-gloss product in the United States. After the introduction to the China market, they localized the design, adding in more storage and use functions in a more compact unit; the central island was re-shaped as a more flexible side-bar. This year they will continue to explore more innovative-colored kitchen space in conjunction with world-leading research institutions such as Sherwin-Williams Global Color Lab and WGSN. They will debut their new product line at the upcoming International Kitchen and Bath Show in Shanghai this May.
