Badgeville Behavior Platform Helps Kendall-Jackson Winery Drive 65% Higher Customer Engagement
Helps Bring a New Dimension of Fun and Discovery to K-J Recommends Mobile Application
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Badgeville, the leading global leader in gamification, today announced that Kendall-Jackson Winery has seen a 65 percent increase in user-session frequency and 38 percent more downloads for its K-J Recommends mobile app in just four months since implementing Badgeville's solution. With the help of Badgeville, the K-J Recommends app, which is available for iOS and Android, is reinventing the way consumers can make wine a part of everyday occasions with family and friends.
With the release of the new version of the app, Kendall-Jackson Winery aimed to increase consumer engagement and education. In addition to delivering a fun and interactive experience about Kendall-Jackson wines, the winery had a goal to grow page views, encourage repeat visits, increase time spent on the app and drive new user acquisition as key performance indicators.
To meet these goals, Kendall-Jackson looked to Badgeville to introduce challenging wine quizzes designed to educate and entertain users about wine, winemaking, wine regions and food pairing with Kendall-Jackson wines. Users can also earn points and badges through the app's quizzes and missions.
In addition to increasing downloads and session frequency, since the November 2013 launch of Badgeville gamification on K-J Recommends, Kendall-Jackson has also gained:
- 8,200 new registered users,
- 27,000 more registered actions from registered users,
- 1,500 more social sharing actions and,
- 15,000 more impressions on Facebook.
"Using Badgeville's Behavior Platform, we've been able to rapidly grow and improve engagement and deliver an app experience that is both educational and rewarding for our customers," said Jason J. Hunke, Senior Vice President, Communications, for Kendall-Jackson. "The updated K-J Recommends brings a new dimension of fun and discovery to Kendall-Jackson and our wines while helping build relationships with our friends and fans."
"We're seeing tremendous growth in the adoption of applications and interactive experiences as a means to increase brand loyalty and customer engagement," said Steve Sims, Founder of the Behavior Lab and Chief Design Officer at Badgeville. "So many companies are finding creative ways to implement gamification to boost customer engagement and business results. It's exciting to be a part of this growing phenomenon and work with companies like Kendall-Jackson that are leading the way."
K-J Recommends now includes more wine information about their portfolio of wines, culinary and recipe content from Kendall-Jackson's famed culinary team, quizzes and improved social media integration so users can readily share their experiences with K-J Recommends and Kendall-Jackson wines.
