Azumio Introduces Argus
FIRST APP TO MONITOR YOUR ACTIVITIES, FOOD, SLEEP AND VITALS, BY USING ADVANCED ALGORITHMS AND NEW INNOVATIVE USER INTERFACE
PALO ALTO, Calif., July 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Azumio, the leading provider of consumer health and fitness apps, today introduced Argus, a breakthrough mobile app that provides a unified picture of your health and fitness, unlike anything on the market. Argus turns your smartphone into a sophisticated health and fitness device as it monitors and manages your activities, food, sleep patterns, exercise, hydration, caffeine-consumption, weight and vitals, helping you make sense of numerous biofeedback data points to reach your health goals and improve overall well-being.
Argus unifies all your statistics and user input into one view and provides context around the data to make it actionable. The app automatically and seamlessly brings together information from sensors on your smartphone, data from other Azumio apps, and details from a variety of other health and fitness apps and third party wearable devices - helping you make sense of it all.
Inside Argus, each entry is presented as a thumbnail-sized visual cell. Groups of cells are aligned in a honeycomb-structured timeline and can be expanded to retrieve more detailed information. By pressing a specific cell for two seconds, the app will intelligently aggregate data of the same type – like the number of steps you've walked each day, photos of the food you've eaten, your running session or workout – to provide instant insight into the data history by category. When anything changes on any of the connected apps or wearable devices, Argus will update its timeline instantly, saving you the task of switching from app to app, or cross-referencing data to understand correlations.
For the first time, users can now identify their own developing health trends by examining the correlation between various metrics and data points. For example, Argus can analyze your weight versus the food you eat on a daily, weekly or monthly basis; measure your resting heart rate as it relates to the number of steps you've taken; correlate the distance you've run compared to the volume of water consumed; illustrate the amount of oily foods consumed against sleep patterns; and many other combinations, to offer brand new insights into the cause-and-effect of actions on our bodies and habits.
"The most frequent request from our user base of over 40 million customers has been for something that would combine all their health and fitness data into one place," said Bojan Bostjancic, CEO of Azumio. "This is exactly what we've done with Argus – it serves as the fabric for your wearable devices and other health apps and presents your data in context. Reaching your health and fitness goals will be easier and more fun with Argus".
Argus works with existing fitness devices and apps, including Withings' weight scale and the MapMyFitness app as well as a selection of Azumio's existing apps, including Fitness Buddy, the personal training companion with over 1,700 exercises; Instant Heart Rate, the world's most popular heart monitor; Sleep Time, which monitors and analyzes your sleep cycles; and Instant Fitness, which provides voice-cued home workouts. All of your activities, bio-data, and completed workouts automatically populate in the Argus timeline and can be started directly through the activity menu.
Tracking physical activities like steps, running or biking has never been easier. Argus automatically differentiates a walk from a run and records it accordingly, adding in pace, distance, and a GPS-map. It then posts this data on your timeline when you've completed your workout.
Recording the foods you eat on Argus is just one click away - easy and fun. Simply snap a photo of your meal, map it to the provided food groups - fruit, veggies, protein, dairy, grain, fat - and you're done. No need to input portion sizes, calories or menu details. The data is then used to help you change your eating habits to achieve your goal of gaining or losing weight.
Achieving goals with the help of close friends or relatives is easier and more fun than ever. Argus allows you to create private groups of friends on Facebook to share your biking, running and workout sessions, as well as photos of the food you've eaten. Each individual entry on the Argus timeline can be shared with your close friends on Argus, or the larger social circle on Facebook – helping impact your habits and creating awareness and accountability. Argus also provides up to three personalized health and fitness goals to track on a daily or weekly basis, and offers suggestions and proactive reminders for encouragement.
Argus works by integrating the latest technologies – from motion-sensing and gesture-recognition, to intelligent algorithms that track location and context data – while preserving battery power on your smartphone. Argus works in the background 24/7 and displays your data on your timeline in real time.
If your goal is to become more fit, to better manage your weight or to improve your sleep, then Argus is your best health and fitness companion. - managing and improving your health is now easier, simpler and more fun with Argus.
