CARSON CITY, Nev., April 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Nutrition bar company Forward Foods, LLC, the maker of the award-winning Detour® bar, today announced the company will begin selling its protein bars throughout Europe starting May 1. "All of our protein bars are made with the highest quality ingredients to deliver maximum functional benefits without sacrificing on taste," said Patrick Muldoon, chief executive officer of Forward Foods, which owns Detour. "Our Original Detour bars have been a consumer favorite in the U.S. for almost 10 years, and our new Detour Lean Muscle bars have been wildly popular among athletes interested in building and maintaining lean muscle mass since their introduction last year. We're excited to bring our great-tasting protein bars to consumers across Europe and look forward to expanding our product line across there in the future."
Detour Original bars contain 30 grams of high quality whey protein to help recover and rebuild powerful muscle. They are rich in branch chain amino acids, and each bar provides a complete source of essential proteins.

Detour's Lean Muscle bar is fortified with 20 vitamins and minerals and provides 1000 mg of healthy Omega 3's per serving, a first in the protein bar category that gives dedicated athletes the full spectrum of nutrients they need for optimal performance and lean muscle development.
"We are proud to be appointed the official distributor of the Detour brand across Europe. As a pioneer of the nutritional bar category, Detour is still one of the best tasting bars in the market," said Andy Cartwright, CEO of Body Temple. "The European consumer is very discerning when it comes to great taste and the new Lean Muscle bar, in particular, ticks all the boxes that our customers have been asking for over the last year. Our pre-orders on this product have already been one of the most successful we have seen in the 'grab & go' category in the last five years, and we have high expectations for a very successful relationship."
