DALLAS, Dec. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Back for a fourth straight year, Avocados From Mexico (AFM) is excited to confirm its 30-second commercial during the Big Game, airing Sunday, February 4, 2018 on NBC. This year, AFM returns with its "patented" light hearted humor to tackle its tasty versatility message that will entertain and delight fans with the hilarity they have come to expect from the "Always in Season" brand.
"Over the past three years, our groundbreaking Big Game campaigns have been an overwhelming success," said Alvaro Luque, president of Avocados From Mexico. "This year, we are excited to further build on that momentum with another integrated campaign that reminds consumers that avocados are a highly versatile and great tasting fruit, perfect both inside and outside the bowl – from sandwiches to burritos to wraps and salads."
Year after year, we see tried-and-true advertising schemes that capitalize on age-old consumer habits. But just like the game, which evolves season after season, so do consumer needs and preferences – that's why AFM has focused on the flexibility of avocados and guacamole in a myriad of sandwiches and dishes in this year's spot.
"We're game planning for a BIG play this year as we cast guacamole from a whole new point of view," said Kevin Hamilton, Senior Director of Marketing at Avocados From Mexico. "We believe avocados and guacamole are so good, it would be a shame to confine them to just a bowl. So, we're eager to showcase the many avocado options during the biggest game."
A Look Back
AFM launched its first Big Game ad in 2015, bringing the world "Draft Day," a humorous, star-studded spot depicting Mexico as the origin for the avocado during a pre-historic, football-styled "first draft ever" of plants and animals.
And 2016 unveiled "Bounty of Earth," a hilarious, out-of-this-world experience set in an interplanetary museum where aliens highlighted how the Mexican avocado is "Always in Season," among other unique Earthly treasures.
In 2017, "#AvoSecrets," a secret society leader is troubled, as humankind figures out that Avocados From Mexico have good fat – a precious secret the society is supposed to protect.
AFM will once again launch this year's campaign in the days leading up to the Big Game to further engage consumers – before, during and after the commercial airing.
Returning for the fourth straight year to provide creative strategy and production of the Big Game ad and multi-dimensional campaign is advertising agency GSD&M, based in Austin, Texas. Havas Media will again handle ad buying and execution, while Dallas-based Richards Lerma is driving the social media and digital execution, while NYC-based Ketchum manages public relations.
