"At Avesta, our goal is to glorify the individual person, starting with each of our teammates," said Robert Reynolds, Managing Director. "We give them the tools they need to serve residents, serve one another, and create a culture where they can thrive. It's a great honor to be recognized by our teammates, because they are the ones serving our residents and fulfilling our mission each and every day."
Avesta is a rapidly-growing apartment investment and management firm based in Austin, Texas and Tampa, Florida that has acquired over 11,000 apartment homes since 2010. As Avesta has grown, they have focused on recruiting and retaining great teammates that can help the company fulfill its vision to "be the world's most resident focused company."
Despite a great benefits package and a host of perks, Avesta teammates note that at Avesta, culture is most important.
"The benefits and perks are great, but what I really enjoy is the Avesta culture," said Kyle Slagle, a Service teammate who has worked at Avesta in Jacksonville for two years. "Avesta teammates truly believe they are contributing to something greater than themselves through servant leadership. It's unlike any company I've ever worked for."
Avesta recently launched the "Avesta Experience," a series of trainings designed to educate teammates on a host of core customer service beliefs and best practices, focusing on topics such as empathy and active listening. Avesta developed the trainings by interviewing each of its roughly 200 teammates in individual or small group sessions.
"It's a game changer," said Dan French, Managing Director. "It's a lot of work up front, but the long-term payoffs of this type of investment in our people are beyond measure."
"Great Place to Work" is recognized as the global authority on high-performance workplace cultures. Each year, the group produces a list of the best places to work based on a statistically valid employee survey.
