VANCOUVER, April 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- AURO just made it easier for business customers and developers to deploy popular open-source software packages on its Canadian Cloud Computing service. The company recently launched their cloud application marketplace that includes a library of more than 50 leading open-source packages, in addition to most OS distributions, including Ubuntu, CentOS, Fedora, CoreOS and Windows. Each of these OS distributions can be deployed on AURO's Cloud Computing Platform with just a few clicks.

"These ready-to-launch application packages are built specifically to run on AURO's OpenStack-powered cloud. They help reduce the need for companies and developers to spend most of their time compiling and configuring their applications, finding and deploying libraries, or resolving versioning issues," AURO's Matt McKinney said in a recent presentation.
"Our Application Marketplace is designed to make developers and team more efficient by removing many common operational deployment and configuration tasks. They can now focus on their core tasks, and more importantly, their users," said McKinney. "Deployment of our applications is very easy – users simply select the preferred option to launch an instance, specify several parameters, and select the application from the available image library. The application will be up and running in a minute or less."
A total of 50 leading open-source applications are available, including infrastructure applications, several content management tools, developer tools and customer relationship management (CRM) packages. These ready-to-deploy applications include images like MySQL, Magento Hosting, Ruby, as well as developer tools like GitLab, Redmine and Jenkins. Popular content management applications on AURO include WordPress Hosting, Joomla and Drupal Hosting.
The Cloud Application Marketplace is one of the latest in a series of new features and services that AURO has recently announced since their launch last November. Other announcements include integration of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012, new compute regions in Canada, as well as several new partnerships to accelerate cloud services across Canada.
AURO was built using OpenStack to give Canada its first true enterprise public cloud that can support a wide range of cloud computing requirements. With a free account, open APIs and Canadian cloud storage, customers get a platform that can deliver highly scalable public, private and hybrid cloud services, including operational and architectural compatibility with AWS. In addition, businesses now have cloud computing pricing that matches or beats other cloud computing providers. It is easy to use, self-service and available to everyone. AURO delivers a portfolio of services that include IT Infrastructure and Cloud Hosting, while giving users the benefits of Canada's unique regulatory environment and data security, all within a 100% Canadian platform.
