Attensity Recognized as 'Innovative Company to Watch' by Leading Analyst Firm
Evaluation Based on Attensity's Ability to Make Its Text Analytics Offering Accessible to Business Users Who Want to Analyze the Voice of the Customer
PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Attensity™, the leader in Customer Experience Management software applications that generate value from unstructured text, today announced its position as an "Innovative Company Under $100M to Watch, 2010" in IDC's new report and associated Innovation Award (1). The report summary can be viewed at http://www.idc.com/getdoc.jsp?sessionId=&containerId=224841.
"We are very proud to be a recipient of IDC's annual Innovations Award and be recognized among the leaders in the software market," said Ian Bonner, president and chief executive officer of Attensity Group. "We consider it a testament to our ability to innovate and make text analytics accessible to non-specialist users."
In its second year, IDC's "Innovative Companies To Watch Under $100M" honors key vendors that are advancing efforts around the trends published in IDC's Top Ten Predictions series. This series of documents focuses each year on the applications, applications development and deployment, and information access markets.
Attensity was highlighted in the "Search-Based Application" category. IDC defines search-based applications as designed to solve a particular business problem or streamline a business process that has a strong need for information, usually from multiple sources. Attensity was recognized for its text analytics application that is designed to make nonspecialist users able to easily "monitor social media, understand the voice of the customer and support compliance or eDiscovery." IDC comments in the report that Attensity's approach to extracting information "extends the notion of pervasive analytics to include text as well as data, informing decisions, improving reaction time, and ultimately saving money for businesses."
"Attensity has demonstrated its ability to innovate, making a complex technology usable and therefore invaluable to its customers," the IDC report also noted. "Attensity's dashboards create easy-to-understand graphs and charts from entity, time, relationship, or sentiment extractions over large numbers of documents from multiple sources. Decision makers use these to react quickly to a dynamic, shifting business environment."
About "Innovative Companies"
IDC's "Innovative Companies Under $100M to Watch" reports are a qualitative evaluation of a set of vendors within a specific market – they are not a stack ranking nor do they represent an exhaustive evaluation of all companies in a segment or a comparative ranking of the companies in the report. IDC solicited entries from vendors of less than $100 million that exemplify specific key trends (selected by analysts) that are driving change in a specific software market. Vendors then submitted case studies that exemplified one of the trends used as the basis for the award. These case studies were evaluated individually and independently by related market analysts across several pre-determined criteria. The teams then met to review the scores. The case studies submitted for review had to demonstrate that the technology was available, able to be implemented and provided real-world benefits to the customer.
