Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning experts join CrowdFlower Scientific Advisory Board
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CrowdFlower, the essential human-in-the-loop platform for data science and machine learning teams, today announced three new artificial intelligence and machine learning industry experts – Barney Pell, Anthony Goldbloom, and Pete Warden – have joined their Scientific Advisory Board to help guide the company's future strategy.

Dr. Barney Pell, Ph.D. is currently machine learning fellow at the Creative Disruption Lab at the University of Toronto, co-founder and chairman of LocoMobi helping to bring AI technology to the parking industry, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Moon Express opening up the Moon for commercial development, and associate founder and board advisor for Singularity University. Previously Dr. Pell was founder and chief executive officer of Powerset, a pioneering startup in natural-language search that was acquired by Microsoft and integrated into Bing, where he then served as strategist and architect of Bing, lead for Bing's local and mobile search team, leader of Microsoft's long-range plan for semantics and knowledge, and co-founder of Cortana, Microsoft's conversational assistant. Dr. Pell also previously managed an 85-person Artificial Intelligence R&D organization at NASA that was responsible for flying the first AI system in deep space. He completed his B.S. in Symbolic Systems at Stanford University and his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Trinity College, Cambridge, in which he researched artificial intelligence, machine learning, and general-game playing as a path toward artificial general intelligence.
Mr. Anthony Goldbloom is founder and chief executive officer of Kaggle, the world's largest data science community with over 650,000 members. Forbes Magazine has named Mr. Goldbloom as one of the "30 under 30" in technology, and MIT Tech Review has named him one of top 35 innovators under the age of 35. He has published in the The Economist and the Harvard Business Review. Mr. Goldbloom received his first class honors degree in Econometrics and an Alumni of Distinction Award from the University of Melbourne.
Mr. Pete Warden is current staff research engineer at Google where he is the technical lead of the TensorFlow Mobile team, responsible for deep learning on mobile and embedded devices. Previously Mr. Warden was founder and chief technology officer at Jetpac where he led the creation of a unique data product that analyzed the pixel data of over 140 million photos from Instagram and turned them into in-depth guides for more than 5,000 cities around the world. He also wrote the world's only mustache detection image processing algorithm. Mr. Warden received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
