Arnold Worldwide Strengthens Creative Bench with Hires of Dylan Bernd and Chris Chao
Global Chief Creative Officer Jim Elliott Fuels Creative Leadership Team Growth
BOSTON, April 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Global creative agency Arnold Worldwide announced today the addition of Dylan Bernd as SVP, Group Creative Director, and Chris Chao as SVP, Creative/Design Director, to the agency's growing Creative department.
These hires are the first major appointments under Global Chief Creative Officer Jim Elliott, who joined Arnold in March 2015, and are a part of Global President Pam Hamlin and Elliott's plan to power up Arnold's creative offering and fuel agency momentum.
Reporting to Executive Creative Director Pete Johnson, SVP, Group Creative Director Dylan Bernd will be based at the agency's headquarters in Boston. Bernd brings to Arnold a wealth of cross-category experience, having formerly served as Group Creative Director on the JetBlue, truTV and US Cellular accounts at Mullen, and on MasterCard at McCann New York, where he led a revival of the "Priceless" campaign and launched "Priceless Cities."
Previously, Bernd freelanced on assignments with Crispin, Porter + Bogusky for American Express, and with David&Goliath, where he was part of the team that created the "Epic" Super Bowl spot for Kia. At Bartle Bogle Hegarty NY, Bernd worked on the widely acclaimed integrated Google Chrome campaign, Johnnie Walker's "Say it without saying it," Ally Bank and AXE. Prior to BBH, Bernd served on the Virgin Mobile, Target, Dell and 10 Cane Rum accounts at Mother New York. He has been honored by Cannes, The One Show, Art Directors Club, CA, CA Interactive, ANDYs, CLIOs, Hatch, Shortys and Graphis.

SVP, Creative/Design Director Chris Chao will report to Kate Murphy, EVP, Executive Creative Director, and be based out of Arnold's New York office. He will be an integral part of the KAO creative team, working on the John Frieda and Jergens accounts. Chao brings world-class beauty, luxury and CPG experience to Arnold, where he first started his career in advertising working on Bermuda Tourism, Perrier-Jouet, Procter & Gamble and Novartis.
Most recently, Chao was SVP, North American Creative Director on the Olay account at Saatchi & Saatchi NY, where he helped grow Olay from a $1 billion brand to a $2.5 billion powerhouse. At Deutsch NY, Chao worked on the Westin and Sheraton accounts, and his "Feel Better" campaign for the re-launch of Tylenol garnered the agency significant awards recognition. Chao's work has received multiple Addy and Effie Awards, been featured in the Graphis Design Annual and Advertising Age, and been named "Spot of the Year" by Adweek.
