Arnold Worldwide Global CCO Jim Elliott Adds Two to Creative Leadership Team
Agency Hires Marc Sobier and Greg Farley as SVP, Group Creative Directors
NEW YORK, Jan. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Global creative agency Arnold Worldwide today announced that it has appointed Marc Sobier and Greg Farley as SVP, Group Creative Directors. Reporting directly to Global Chief Creative Officer Jim Elliott, these hires are part of Elliott's plan to bolster Arnold's creative offering and fuel company momentum.
While Sobier and Farley are based in Arnold's New York office, they work on businesses across the agency's micro-network, supervising teams, creative and accounts hubbed out of both Boston and New York. Arnold calls this operating model "long hallways" – leveraging technology to link talent across different offices. Sobier is partnering with EVP/ECD Sean McBride in Boston and Farley is partnering with EVP/ECD Andy Clarke, also in Boston.
This will not be the first time Elliott, Sobier and Farley have partnered to create award-winning work. While at Y&R NY, the three earned several Cannes Lions for their creative efforts on Land Rover USA. In addition, their work on "The Vanishing Game" – an interactive adventure story for Land Rover penned by bestselling author William Boyd – earned one of five ADC Tomorrow Awards for 2015, created to recognize "creativity that pushes the boundaries of technological innovation." The three had previously also worked together at Goodby Silverstein & Partners.
"Marc and Greg truly exemplify what it means to be a modern creative working in today's evolving landscape," said Elliott. "It's no accident that they've earned top honors at virtually every globally recognized awards show. They are deft, savvy problem solvers and storytellers, terrific culture-builders and all-around great guys. I could not be more excited to join forces with Marc and Greg once again to help build our clients' businesses through fame-making work."
In addition to serving as Executive Creative Director for Land Rover USA, while at Y&R NY, Sobier also led creative for Footaction Streetwear and the United States Olympic Committee. Previously, as an ACD at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, he worked on brands including Saturn, Hewlett-Packard, Budweiser, Comcast, Hyundai, Frito-Lay, Chevrolet and Dickies workwear. For Doritos, Sobier curated entries for the popular "Crash the Super Bowl" contest for four years, and his work on the interactive horror website Hotel 626 was awarded a Cannes Gold Cyber Lion and an FWA People's Choice Award. He is also credited with creating HP's first-ever Super Bowl commercial and helping Cheetos' Chester Cheetah character transform from a kids' brand into a more adult brand.
Prior to serving as a Creative Director at Y&R NY, Farley was a Creative Director at KBS+P NY, where he helped lead creative efforts on BMW and The Robin Hood Foundation. As a Copywriter at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Farley worked on Sprint, Hewlett-Packard, the NBA, Comcast, Zynga and Häagen-Dazs. While at Saatchi & Saatchi LA, he helped create spots for the well-known Toyota Tacoma "Unbreakable" campaign, which included work for the Super Bowl and a mash-up film with "World of Warcraft" that earned millions of views and reposts on YouTube and achieved pop culture status with campaign catchphrases being bootlegged for t-shirts and bumper stickers.
Global Chief Creative Officer Jim Elliott was appointed by Global President Pam Hamlin in March 2015 to strengthen creative leadership and elevate Arnold's creative product across the network. Since joining the agency, Elliott has brought in a wealth of new senior-level creative talent, including ECD Mat Jerrett, ECD Tim Flood, SVP/CD Ricardo Landim, SVP/GCD James Clunie, SVP/CD, Director of Creative Technology Matt McGregor-Mento, Director of Innovation Craig Wood, and Conceptual Director Brice Rogers.
