Valentine's Day is all about love and romance and traditionally people express their love by giving the gift of flowers and heart shaped presents. While the iconic image of a heart has grown to universally symbolize love it has also become a symbol of heart health and few organizations have done more to promote heart health than the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association provides valuable information and services related to heart health.
Arizona Flower Market owner, Brad Denham explains, "February is National Heart Month so we are excited to combine the traditional Valentines flower celebration along with a message of heart health. We are proud to launch our 'Have a Heart' campaign to raise awareness and support for the American Heart Association's efforts. To support their efforts we are giving away 20 Stems of tulips to any customer who comes to the Arizona Flower Market and donates a used cell phone or tablet. We love our customers and many of them are women. Unfortunately, heart disease is the number one killer of women in America so this is the perfect time to shine a light on heart disease and prevention."
Fittingly, the campaign kicks off on Friday February 5th, which also happens to be National Wear Red Day, a day to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke, particularly among women. The trending hashtag is #PHXGoRed and the Twitter page is GoRedForWomen.
"Years after the American Heart Association launched the Go Red For Women® movement, heart disease remains the leading killer of women – killing more women than all forms of cancer combined," said Cayci Oliver, Executive Director of the Greater Phoenix Division of the American Heart Association. "Most women don't notice the symptoms of heart disease until it's too late, which is why heart disease has been called the silent killer."
Offer Details: The offer for free flowers in exchange for donating a cell phone or tablet runs from Friday, February 5th – Sunday, February 14th. Customers must come to the market during normal business hours with their donation to claim their free flowers. One per customer, please.
