"Buddy" Porta, Jr., PE as Business Development Manager for the State of Louisiana within its Infrastructure Division. Porta brings a wealth of knowledge in transportation procurement and operations with governmental agencies to the position. As Business Development Manager, Porta will be responsible for growing the transportation business in Louisiana and the southeast.

Porta brings over 30 years of experience in working for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). His various roles within the organization included working in an in-house design squad for 11 years, followed by 16 years of project and program management at LADOTD for the Off-System Bridge Rehabilitation and Replacement Program, the Urban System Program, and the Overlay Program. Following this period, his role became the dedicated manager of the Transportation Infrastructure Model for Economic Development (TIMED) Program for the development of 16 intermodal facilities across the state. The program, costing over $5 billion, is the largest infrastructure program in Louisiana history. His last five years of tenure at LADOTD was spent serving as Road Design Engineer Administrator.
Porta served in the U.S. Army Reserve 321st Material Management Center and was deployed to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait during the Gulf War. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 1997 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering Louisiana State University.
