Aquarius Cannabis Doubles Team in Anticipation of Rapid Growth
Numerous Business Partnerships throughout U.S. Prompt New Hires, Including Former Altria Group Executive as Director of Marketing
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Nov. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Aquarius Cannabis, a U.S.-based branding company in the medical and recreational marijuana industries, today announced that it has doubled its team in the past 30-days in order to prepare for rapid growth and the fulfillment of multi-state partnerships.
Officially launched last month, Aquarius Cannabis' goal is to create the first truly national, consumer marijuana brand by establishing consistency standards in an inconsistent and fragmented industry, and they have created a best-in-class team to do this. Key leaders who joined the team include:
- Jose de Castro – Director of Marketing. Mr. de Castro has more than twenty years of professional experience in branding and new product development. Prior to joining Aquarius Cannabis, Mr. de Castro was responsible for multiple product portfolios in 43 countries for Altria Group, the owner of three premier tobacco companies. At Altria Group, he also served as Senior Brand Manager for Marlboro in the U.S. from 2004-2008. Mr. de Castro will spearhead new consumer product development and launches at Aquarius Cannabis.
- Beau Keene – Director of Production and horticultural specialist. Mr. Keene has more than a decade of professional experience in the horticulture industry, specializing in controlled environment agriculture. Prior to joining Aquarius Cannabis, Mr. Keene worked for the Gotham Greens, a New York City based company dedicated to growing the highest quality vegetables and culinary herbs for local restaurants and retailers, to manage its flagship greenhouse. He brings years of production design expertise and experience cultivating plants, including cannabis, to the Aquarius Cannabis team, where he has already developed the recently-announced AquariusPODs.
- Lowell Hinte – Director of Operations. Prior to joining the Aquarius Cannabis team, Mr. Hinte worked in a fast-paced branding and marketing firm – S2N Design – where he oversaw company growth year over year for five years. Mr. Hinte is responsible for overseeing a multi-state roll out of Aquarius Cannabis' branding offerings.
- Kit Wren – Director of Sales. Mr. Wren is a veteran salesman in emerging markets, with a technology start-up background. He previously worked at Virool to land and service multi-million dollar contracts. He will spearhead Aquarius Cannabis' business development programs.
