App Makes It Easy for Seattleites to Store Summer Sports Gear, Un-Cluttering House or Apartment For Fall and Winter
Convenient Service Picks-Up Items Ranging from Bikes to Kayaks, Stores Them Securely and Then Delivers Them Back to Customer's Door
SEATTLE, Oct. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Storrage, the rapidly-growing provider of home pick-up and delivery storage services to the Seattle-area, today launched a new seasonal storage program that enables first-time customers to have Spring and Summer sports equipment picked-up and then stored off-site until next Spring when it's delivered back to them.
"When the sun comes out in the spring in Seattle, so does an avalanche of sports equipment," said Storrage CEO and founder Terry Drayton. "But during the fall and winter, that equipment tends to get crammed into closets and garages – or worse – in the corners or balconies of apartments where living space is at a premium. Our Daylight Storrage Time program helps solve this problem."
Storrage comes to the customer's door to pick-up their sports equipment and then stores it in a secure, climate-controlled warehouse. When customers want their equipment back, they can use the Storrage app to have it delivered back to their home for $7. Monthly storage fees are based on type of item and range in cost from $4 for items including golf clubs or a baseball bat bag, $6 for a bike and $11 for a kayak.
As part of the seasonal program, Storrage is offering new customers pick-up of their items, the first month of storage and return delivery, at a price of $1 per item stored.
"If a golfer wants us to come get a golf bag, store it for five months and then bring it back, it would cost just $17," said Drayton. "For someone needing a place to store a bike for the same period of time, the cost would be $25. A kayak would come in at $45."
To sign-up for the promotion, customers need to: download the free Storrage app to their iPhone, iPad or Android device; set-up an account; select a day and time for home pick-up; and pay $1 for the first month of service. Customers will then be billed on a monthly basis until they're ready to have their items returned. More details on the promotion can be viewed online at: www.storrage.com/daylight-storrage-time.
"Consumers are really smart and always vote with their wallets for the better mousetrap," says Drayton. "Just as Uber created the on-demand, personal transportation market that has totally disrupted the traditional taxi business, Storrage is creating the on-demand, personal storage market that will disrupt the traditional self-storage business."
All items handled by Storrage are stored at a secure, restricted access, climate-controlled warehouse that's monitored 24 hours a day. Storrage picks up and delivers in prominently identified vans staffed by uniformed drivers. All staff are bonded to ensure absolute professionalism and security and safety of customer items.
Storrage provides service to more than 50 zip codes and covers most of King County. A complete listing of zip codes served by Storrage can be found at the company's website.
Based in Seattle, Storrage was founded in 2013 by serial entrepreneur Terry Drayton to meet the increasing need for low-cost, high-convenience off site storage for consumers including urban apartment and condo dwellers.
