NEW YORK, Jan. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Anvil Knitwear today announced that Doug LeRoy has joined the New York City-based apparel manufacturer as Vice President of Retail Sales. As a member of Anvil's leadership team, Mr. LeRoy will be responsible for the sales and development of a multi-channel retail strategy enhancing Anvil's growth initiatives.

Mr. LeRoy comes to Anvil from Gildan where he served as a Vice President of Sales, Merchandising, Marketing and Product Development for over six years. In this role, Mr. LeRoy established Gildan's retail business unit. Prior to Gildan, Mr. LeRoy was Vice President of Sales of the Jerzees Division, part of the Russell Corporation. Mr. LeRoy also previously served as a Senior Vice President of Sales at Fruit of the Loom, Inc., where he was responsible for managing the company's relationship with national retailers and held several positions at Sears Roebuck & Company.
