Ann Taylor Launches Inspired By Partnership with Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge
NEW YORK, April 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Ann Taylor will launch Inspired By, a monthly online interview series curated by Grace Bonney, creator of Design*Sponge and author of In the Company of Women. Inspired By will live on anntaylor.com and kicks off with a feature on Bonney herself. Following the initial launch, Bonney will go behind the scenes as she takes us through a day in the life of inspiring women from her network. The Inspired By campaign will feature one woman per month until the end of the year.
"We have been such fans of Grace and Design*Sponge since its very beginning," said Holly Tedesco, VP of Marketing, Ann Taylor. "And we were even more inspired by In the Company of Women and the way that Grace celebrates real women who are pursuing their passions -- just as our millions of clients do every day. Grace embodies our belief that behind every great woman is another and another."
Grace launched Design*Sponge in 2004, and the site has grown to become one of the most widely referenced and consulted decor blogs for both professionals and hobbyists when inspiration hunting and idea sourcing. Her book, In the Company of Women features the work and lives of over 100 women artists, makers, musicians, writers, and more, and has become a New York Times bestseller. Design*Sponge attracts a diverse group of devoted readers across the globe and currently reaches over 1 million readers per month.
"I'm so excited to be working with Ann Taylor on a series that celebrates women of all ages, backgrounds and stages of their careers. When women work together, learn from each other and lift one another up, there's no limit to what they can achieve," said Bonney.
On May 5, Grace will feature the first of many inspirational women of this series, Agatha Achindu, founder of Yummy Spoonfuls®, a fresh-frozen organic baby and tots food company based in Atlanta. Agatha, a dedicated mother and chef, struggled to find delicious and nutritious meals for her young son here in the US like she had growing up in Cameroon, West Africa, where farm-to-table is the norm. So she took to her kitchen to create meals that were delicious and packed with only healthy organic ingredients. Soon after Yummy Spoonfuls® was born. The brand was immediately picked up by major retailers nationwide.
The full Inspired By lineup of women will not be revealed at once, but rather unfolded monthly throughout the year. For more information and to view the monthly interviews please visit https://www.anntaylor.com/inspiredby.
About Ann Taylor
Ann Taylor began in 1954 with a dress and a dream. When Richard Liebeskind opened his first shop in New Haven, CT, he named it "Ann Taylor" after the best-selling dress style in his father's own store. That dress represented his vision of the modern, stylish American woman. With that vision, Ann Taylor has grown to an iconic brand with over 200 stores across North America. As the American woman has evolved, so have we, staying one step ahead to bring her a wardrobe of possibilities. She lives a rich and varied life, and we strive to bring her thoughtful style options for big days and everydays. With a sophisticated, feminine approach to modern essentials, we promise to give her the inspiration and confidence she needs to do what she loves.
