NEW YORK, Feb. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Everyday Health is pleased to announce a ground breaking web series, "60 Pounds in 6 Months" with famed and fierce celebrity stylist Kithe Brewster. Like most Americans Kithe struggles to put himself and his health first, and as a result he is 100 pounds overweight. Unlike most Americans, Kithe spends his days making celebrities like Tyra, Heidi Klum, Eve and Julianne Moore look fabulous—now, it is his turn. Beginning Monday, February 14, 2011 viewers can tune in to EverydayHealth.com to watch the premiere episode titled, "Getting Started."

This web-based series, produced by a former executive of the popular weight-loss series, "The Biggest Loser," will follow Kithe on his six-month journey to lose 60 pounds. A new episode will premiere each month, building towards the finale and Kithe's 'big reveal' on August 15.
An all-access back-stage pass is granted as viewers go behind-the-scenes with Kithe. Episodes will juxtapose his bi-coastal career of glitz and glamour—producing Fashion Week runway shows in NYC to dressing Hollywood's elite for red carpets—with visits to Duke Diet and Fitness Center to focus on hardcore training mixed with nutritional education and medical evaluation. Watch and learn, as Kithe finds the daily motivation to make positive change.
The first episode finds a nervous but excited Kithe moving to a temporary residence in Durham, NC to begin a baseline assessment at Duke Diet and Fitness Center. He reveals to his doctor that he had an eye-opening realization, having recently fainted for no apparent reason. "My hectic lifestyle has made me sacrifice a lot, both emotionally and physically." Kithe explains how easy it has been not to exercise or eat healthfully amidst his hectic career, "I've fallen into some horrible vices over the past few years … I need to find a healthier way to live and I never want to feel out of control of my life again."
At the start, Kithe weighs in at 300 pounds, with a 49-inch waist and an elevated blood pressure of 144/96. His goals are obtainable and realistic in order to lose 60 pounds, reduce his waist size by 9-inches to have a 40 inch waist, run a 5K race, and normalize his blood pressure.
Viewers will be fascinated by Kithe's career, lifestyle and supportive friends who make cameos including 'Atlanta Housewife' Cynthia Bailey. They will relate to his struggle for balance and daily motivation, and watch in hopeful anticipation as Kithe overcomes obstacles to reach his goals and make his dream of getting healthier come true. Tune in to watch Kithe on EverydayHealth.com—and viewers can pledge to begin their weight-loss journey using the same tools as Kithe at DukeDiet.com.
