AMG/Parade Announces New Content Division To Expand Offerings To 1,400+ Newspaper Partners
AMG/Parade to Acquire Harris Publications for Breadth of Content
NEW YORK, July 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- AMG/Parade today announced the formation of a new division to provide premium content to brands, including its 1,400+ newspaper partners across the U.S. in print, mobile and digital platforms.
The initiative, PEP (Partner Enhancement Program), will leverage AMG/Parade's best-in-class content in food, sports, pop culture and entertainment to enhance newspaper partners' coverage in those key areas and provide them with new vertical revenue streams. Custom content creation services will also be offered to major brands, including key retailers, under the PEP umbrella. Capabilities include custom magazines, broadsheets, digital and mobile content, video, podcasting, games and live event support.
In addition, AMG/Parade announces the acquisition of Harris Publications, a premiere publisher of 74 vertical titles, as well as associated digital properties and social followings. "Not only are we obtaining successful newsstand performers and a vibrant digital business, but Harris's assets in the Outdoor, Pop Culture, Gardening and Decorating categories will allow us to broaden the scope of topics and products we can offer via the PEP division," says AMG/Parade EVP Tracey Altman.
This is the company's third major acquisition under the leadership of CEO Chuck Allen, an industry veteran. In 2013, as Athlon Sports Communications, the company obtained Relish, Spry Living and American Profile Magazine from Publishing Group of America, owned by Bain Capital. This move created a suite of newspaper-distributed magazines along with its Athlon Sports & Life brand, and complemented its newsstand titles under the Athlon Sports brand. In September 2014, the company purchased Parade Media Group from Conde Nast, bringing the Parade brand into the fold. AMG/Parade also operates Parade.com, CommunityTable.com and AthlonSports.com, as well as brand-associated YouTube channels, mobile apps and podcasts. Combined, its products reach a monthly U.S. audience of over 250 million.
SVP/Chief Content Officer Lisa Delaney will oversee the teams developing content for PEP and the former Harris titles. Leading the sales effort for PEP is VP/Newspaper Sales Solutions Kevin Craig.
