American Home Shield Announces Missouri Resident Wins the $15,000 Go Green, Win Green Sweepstakes Grand Prize
ST. LOUIS, Nov. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- It's no secret that going "green" can pay off in many ways, from reducing your carbon footprint and helping improve air quality, to lowering your energy costs and more. But for Chesterfield, Missouri resident Dan Panning, grand prize winner in the Go Green, Win Green sweepstakes, the payoff adds up to big money. Panning was recently awarded a $15,000 grand prize from American Home Shield, a business unit of The ServiceMaster Company and the nation's leading home warranty company, which sponsored the sweepstakes as a way to promote the exchange of environmentally friendly ideas for everyday living through its Live Green Save Green campaign.
"When I entered the sweepstakes, I never thought I would win," said Panning. "I am excited about all the things I will be able to do. We started doing little things before, but thanks to American Home Shield, we can really begin to make a difference in the energy efficiency of our home and even our vehicle."
Panning recently bought a couple of LED porch lights and night lights but is interested in doing much more. Some of the things at the top of his wish list include a more efficient refrigerator, higher gas-mileage tires and LED replacement lamps.
Dave Crawford, president of American Home Shield, says the sweepstakes was a great way to engage consumers in the Live Green Save Green campaign and to spread the word about practical ways homeowners and others can have a positive impact on the environment.
"Through Live Green Save Green, environmentally conscious consumers across the country are connecting with each other, sharing stories about how they're making a difference in their homes, and learning from others who want to do the same," said Crawford. "As a home repair and maintenance company, American Home Shield has served homeowners for more than 40 years and is glad to help homeowners make their lives and homes run more efficiently."
Live Green Save Green centers around a social community for homeowners and enthusiasts to share strategies on living a more eco-friendly lifestyle. Now in its second year, Live Green Save Green has grown to more than 7,400 members. Live Green Save Green also hosted "Three Degrees of Preparation" this year on the first day of summer, in which home owners from more than 30 states showed their commitment to energy efficiency by lowering their home thermostat three degrees.
