MIAMI, Oct. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Competitiveness Alliance (ACAlliance)— a leading voice in calling for immigration reform that strengthens our modernizing economy— and the Honduran Chamber of Commerce will host a forum in South Florida on Friday, October 23th at the Sheraton Airport Hotel. The forum will focus on how immigration reform is critical to maintaining America's status as an economic superpower, and how outdated policies are obstructing job growth. Expert speakers will include former U.S. Treasurer and ACAlliance Co-Chair Rosario Marin.
"We need to think about immigration reform not only in terms of social justice, but in terms of our economic security and prosperity," said Marin. "We don't hear enough about immigration reform's vital role in creating jobs and sustaining our competitive economic advantage over other countries. We live in a globalized economy now— it's time to address that reality openly and honestly."
The forum will explore how our knowledge-based economy relies on the talent of highly-educated, skilled workers from around the world to ensure that American companies have the talent they need to remain competitive in the global market. Speakers will focus particularly on how immigration reform policies could generate growth within Florida and for Florida-based businesses.
The event is open to the public and members of the media.
