This donation incentive program helps the USO fulfill its mission to lift the spirits of troops and their families through a variety of morale-boosting services and programs that support deployed troops, military families, wounded, ill and injured troops and their caregivers, and families of the fallen.
"Giving back to the men and women who protect our freedom is a cause that is important to our people and our customers," said Capt. Jim Palmersheim, American's Director – Veterans Initiatives. "Caring for our troops and their families is a longtime commitment for us at American, as many of our own people are members of the military and veterans. We are proud to honor these heroes year-round and are grateful for the support of American's generous customers."
American Airlines, American Eagle and their people have a strong commitment to honoring the bravery and dedication of those who serve our country. This dedication is further strengthened through American's partnership with the USO, as American is the official airline of the nonprofit organization. The USO helps pay tribute to military heroes throughout the year by supporting a number of American Airlines programs, including A Salute to the Troops, Sky Ball and Snowball Express.
"Through the generosity of the American public and the support of our incredible corporate sponsors, like American Airlines, the USO is able to create special moments in the lives of our military members and their families," said USO Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff John I. Pray, Jr. "On average, we provide over 30,000 'thank you' moments a day to help those who are working tirelessly to protect the freedoms we enjoy daily feel appreciated for all they are doing on our behalf. American Airlines and its customers can take great pride in knowing they have helped make it possible for the USO to accomplish this absolutely vital mission."
