American Airlines and MasterCard Surprise Customers With "Celebration Flight" Gate Parties, Gift Bags
Celebrations in Honor of 30th Anniversary of AAdvantage Program
FORT WORTH, Texas, Aug. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On Monday and Tuesday of this week, American Airlines continued celebrating the 30th anniversary of the AAdvantage® loyalty program by surprising customers on 15 American Airlines "Celebration Flights" to worldwide destinations. Customers on the selected flights were greeted by MasterCard® sponsored gate parties and gift bags that each contained vouchers for free inflight Wi-Fi; a complimentary drink coupon on American Airlines flights; 30,000 AAdvantage miles (more than enough for a domestic MileSAAver® round-trip travel award); and other exciting gifts.
"Thirty years after introducing the first frequent flyer program, we still know how to put on a first-class celebration," said Maya Leibman, President – AAdvantage Loyalty Program, who was present at the Dallas/Fort Worth gate party. "Seeing how excited our customers were to be a part of this anniversary's festivities spoke volumes about how much they love earning AAdvantage miles. We can't wait to celebrate more milestones with them."
American also took the celebration online, giving followers of the AAdvantage Facebook channel a chance to be passengers on American's first ever "Virtual Celebration Flight." On Friday, Aug. 5, American will announce on Facebook 10 grand prize winners who will receive 30,000 AAdvantage miles for "flying" with American.
