ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., Feb. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Advertising Federation (AAF) Orange County today announced details surrounding the 2017 American Advertising Awards Competition slated for March 23, 2017. With nominations open to companies throughout the Orange County metropolitan area, the awards are currently in the first stage of a three-tier national competition that highlights innovation and creativity in advertising. At the second tier, local ADDY winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District ADDY winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards.
The theme for this year's awards is "Top Shelf Creativity," reflecting the diverse work submitted for awards and the dynamic pool of advertising talent in the region. The DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS is FIVE DAYS AWAY - FEBRUARY 10. Judging will be conducted the weekend of March 4 with finalists notified by the week of March 13. Judges will review entries submitted by the Orange County market in all areas of online, nontraditional, print and broadcast advertising.
Award-winners will be recognized and honored at the awards gala:
- Location: Balboa Bay Resort, 1221 West Coast Hwy, Newport Beach, CA 92663
- Date/Time: March 23, 2017 from 6 to 11 p.m.
- Musical Guest: Iconic Laguna Beach musical group "133 Band," which is currently part of an upcoming documentary and soundtrack album titled "133 The Road to Laguna."
- Award Judges: Top-tier industry professionals including: Mike Ancevic, managing partner/chief creative officer at The Fantastical; Ted Jendrysik, creative director at Mechanica; and Marc Ruggiero, senior director of production design at George P Johnson.
Wing Lam, founder and owner of the Wahoo's Fish Taco restaurants, was instrumental in securing an amazing venue for the gala. Lam is a board member of AAF Orange County, and will open the evening's entertainment by presenting the 133 Band. "I'm thrilled to be an involved board member with the AAF and promote its efforts to recognize the diverse and exciting work going on throughout Orange County," said Lam. "The awards gala promises to be an electric event that recognizes the very best in digital and traditional advertising from the most promising agencies."
