PHOENIX, Nov. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Solera Health, a leading integrated benefit network, announced today that Amarnath Thombre, CEO of Match Group Americas, has joined its board of directors.
Thombre has been a driving force behind Match Group's development of proprietary matching algorithms and data science for more than a decade. He has been instrumental in advancing consumer engagement and enterprise value for over 30 Match Group brands, including the iconic Match.com and Tinder. Prior to taking the helm as CEO, Thombre served as Chief Strategy Officer, where he championed the use of consumer behavior data to improve matching and engagement across platforms. These best practices correlate directly with the consumer engagement and matching model Solera has developed in healthcare.
"What Amarnath has achieved at the Match Group is groundbreaking. His expertise in matching logic, consumer engagement, and operational excellence is a tremendous value-add and validation of our platform's capabilities," said Brenda Schmidt, CEO of Solera Health. "The opportunity to leverage Amarnath's expertise in consumer engagement will help Solera more effectively match individuals to our broad ecosystem of network providers, driving industry-leading levels of sustained engagement and outcomes."
Solera Health contracts with health plans and employers to match people to a curated network of community organizations and digital applications paid through medical claims. Solera's clearinghouse function has created a sustainable revenue model for community organizations that have traditionally relied on grant funding, while improving access to programs and services that meet the needs of diverse populations. Through Solera, individuals are able to choose from programs matched to their unique goals, needs and preferences; research has shown that choice is a powerful factor in initiating and sustaining consumer engagement in healthcare.1 Solera's national provider network includes programs for food insecurity interventions, diabetes prevention and management, and emotional wellbeing services, addressing social determinants of health and ensuring care continues from clinical settings to the community.
"I am fascinated by Solera's mission and impressed by their technology to provide sophisticated matching capabilities and consumer choice in the healthcare space," said Thombre. "The parallels between the consumer engagement approach at Solera and Match are fascinating and I see a great opportunity waiting to be unlocked. At Match Group, at a very basic level, we help people change their lives and find joy. I couldn't think of a better way to amplify that impact than improving their health."
Thombre earned his B.S. in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai and his M.S. in Engineering from the University of Arizona.
