ALS Association Partners with Kwittken to Drive Awareness and Donations During Third Anniversary of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
NEW YORK, Aug. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Kwittken, an MDC Partners agency, is proud to announce its partnership with the ALS Association, as the nonprofit organization looks to increase awareness and aid for those suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) with its ongoing "Every Drop Adds Up" campaign. Kwittken is working with the national organization to shed light on the complex factors and impact of the disease on those diagnosed and their loved ones.
In 2014, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge became an international sensation, inspiring over 17 million online videos, with 10 billion views, by more than 440 million people, with donations from over 3 million of them coming from celebrities, professional athletes, political figures and those touched by the disease. More than $115 million was raised within an eight-week period, demonstrating the power of a strong social media-led campaign. A few short years later, the organization looks towards the future in ways that capture the spirit of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, through new means of storytelling.
"We couldn't be more excited to spearhead this new campaign phase with The ALS Association," said Aaron Kwittken, Global Chairman and CEO of Kwittken. "We recognize that many nonprofit organizations have limited resources, making it difficult to adapt to rapidly changing consumer behaviors, while seeking to resonate with the public. We are determined to be a major part of that support, in a way that highlights this terrible disease by celebrating the resilience of those impacted on the most human level."
On August 1, The ALS Association began to roll out its month-long "Every Drop Adds Up" campaign, which highlights the impact of individuals living with ALS and those committed to fighting ALS, through photography and storytelling. The goal: inspire empathy and determination for a resolution, proving that every voice, experience, and contribution matters in the fight against ALS.
"We thank Kwittken and MDC Partners for their insights and creativity," added Brian Frederick, Executive Vice President, Communications and Development for The ALS Association. "The ALS Association is unwavering in our mission to improve the quality of life for people with ALS while furthering research for new treatments and a cure. With Kwittken at our side, we are confident we can better tell our story and advance our mission."
