Allstate to Open a Record Breaking 140 Agencies Across Texas in 2011
IRVING, Texas, Feb. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Allstate Insurance Company aims to break recruiting records in Texas this year, by opening at least 140 agencies across the state.
The company's expansion goals parallel steady population growth in the Lone Star state. Texas' population jumped more than 20% in the past decade—twice as fast as the nation as a whole—according to newly released 2010 U.S. Census Bureau data
"More Texans mean more homes and cars to protect, so this is a great time to become a part of a recession resilient industry," said Tom Caunitz, Allstate's Texas Strategic Deployment Leader.

Allstate is looking for qualified entrepreneurs with strong management, customer service and sales skills to open their own agencies.
"Allstate agency owners are in business for themselves, but not by themselves," said Caunitz. "If they don't have an insurance background, we'll provide them with the appropriate insurance education to help their agency hit the ground running the day they open for business. In addition, our agency owners have the flexibility to run their agency, hire and manage their staff, while receiving support from one of the country's largest insurance companies and most respected brands."
Agency owners will have the opportunity to sell the company's wide range of insurance and financial products, including personal and commercial auto, property and financial services.
Ideal candidates need at least $50,000 in liquid capital to open and start their new Allstate agency.
"Allstate sets itself apart from franchises because owners are able to watch their business grow immediately with every sale without ever paying franchise fees," said Caunitz. "The required $50,000 in liquid capital does not go to Allstate; it's to ensure the agency can successfully pay for the normal day to day costs associated with opening and running a business."
Allstate is also unique in that agents own the economic interest in their business.
"Allstate agents can sell their business," Caunitz said. "No other branded insurer has this type of ownership option."
Interested candidates can apply to become an Allstate agent by logging on to allstate.com or by calling 1-877-711-1006.
