NORTHBROOK, Ill., Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Allstate Insurance Company, in partnership with RAM Racing, the leading endurance race producer in the country, today kicks off another season of the annual favorite Allstate® Hot Chocolate 15k/5k®. Allstate will be going the extra mile to help runners realize their goals and celebrate their accomplishments with discount race codes, cheer zones and post-race hospitality in addition to providing a memorable experience for a select group of female youth runners.
This season, Allstate is teaming up with Girls on the Run, a physical activity-based positive youth development program for young girls. The insurance company will invite girls participating in Heart & Sole, the organization's middle school program, to lead the way in their respective cities' 5k of the Allstate® Hot Chocolate 15k/5k®. The girls will join in at six upcoming Hot Chocolate races beginning with Denver, Colo. on Oct. 7, 2018 before heading to Allstate's backyard of Chicago, Ill. on Nov. 4. The other four races include: Columbus, Ohio on Nov. 18, Scottsdale, Ariz. on Dec. 2, St. Louis, Mo. on Dec. 9 and Tampa, Fla. on Dec. 16, 2018.
"Running a 15k or even a 5k is a big achievement. As the title sponsor of the Allstate® Hot Chocolate 15k/5k®, we are excited about the various ways we can take this series to the next level and really go the extra mile for the runners," said Pam Hollander, Vice President of Marketing at Allstate. "Teaming up with Girls on the Run was a natural fit, and we look forward to providing these girls with a fun and memorable running experience."
As part of Allstate's ongoing commitment to giving back to local communities, and supporting the next generation of female runners, Allstate will donate $5,000 to each participating Girls on the Run council for them to use toward future programming.
"We are honored and excited to team up with a great company like Allstate for the upcoming Allstate® Hot Chocolate 15k/5k® races," said Kris Smart, Executive Director of Girls on the Run-Chicago. "Girls on the Run is all about giving our girls a positive, fun and confidence-building experience in everything that we do, and by joining forces with a community-driven company like Allstate, I have no doubt that our girls are going to enjoy and embrace every aspect of these events."
Prior to each race, all runners will be able to relax in Allstate's heated runner's suite, where special hats, gloves, headbands and jackets to keep them warm throughout the race and on future runs will be distributed. After crossing the finish line, runners will of course have hot chocolate waiting to warm them up.
The Hot Chocolate race series originated with a single race staged in Chicago in 2007. RAM expanded the Hot Chocolate concept to four cities in 2012 and has been adding races each year to keep up with the more than one million runners that have already participated. The 2018-2019 season includes events in 18 domestic cities.
