Allstate and Kevin Millar to Reward Baseball Fans for Home Run and Foul Balls Caught at the 2016 NCAA® College World Series®
Balls caught by fans will help raise money for local Omaha charity as part of Allstate's "Good Hands in the Stands" initiative
NORTHBROOK, Ill., June 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- If you're heading out to the ballpark for the NCAA College World Series® (CWS™), don't forget to bring your baseball glove. For the third year, Allstate Insurance Company, a proud NCAA corporate partner, is rewarding fans who show their "Good Hands in the Stands" by making a donation for every foul and home run ball caught in the stands during the Men's CWS™ opening weekend. The total donation will be made to Boys Town, an Omaha charity that helps at-risk children realize their potential.
Allstate will make a $500 donation per caught foul ball and will double the donation to $1,000 for each home run ball caught, up to $25,000. The funds will go toward replacing the track at the Boys Town facility that is used by hundreds of athletes each year. Last year, the donation from Allstate supported new athletic equipment for the Boys Town sports program. A special check presentation from Allstate will take place on the field during the CWS™ with members and coaches of the Boys Town youth track team prior to game six on June 20.
"Allstate is thrilled to be back in Omaha for the third year supporting this great initiative," said Pam Hollander, vice president of marketing for Allstate Insurance Company. "We are proud to not only be rewarding fans, but to also be supporting such an important organization in the Omaha community."
Throughout the four games during opening weekend (June 18-19) at the Men's CWS™, Allstate "Good Hands in the Stands" crew members will be stationed around TD Ameritrade Park to deliver a keepsake trophy directly to fans who catch foul and home run balls in their seats. Fans are encouraged to snap a picture of their memorable moment to share on social media using the hashtag #GoodHandsFans.
As part of the program, Allstate has teamed up with former Lamar University baseball athlete, professional baseball first baseman and current baseball analyst, Kevin Millar, who will personally deliver "Good Hands in the Stands" trophies to several lucky fans during the first game on Saturday.
"I'm looking forward to working with Allstate and rewarding fans for their catches as well as helping further the good that Boys Town is doing in and around Omaha," said Millar. "I started playing baseball at a young age and it is charities like Boys Town that give the next generation of players the opportunity to play America's great game."
To learn more about the "Good Hands in the Stands" program, fans can visit Twitter.com/Allstate or stop by the Allstate Fan Zone at the CWS™ Fan Fest located in Lot C. Millar will be signing autographs during a meet-and-greet on Saturday, June 18 from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. CT.
