Allegiance Capital's Eric Brundage Named M&A Dealmaker of the Year, Best Returns Multiplier
DALLAS, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Dallas Business Journal named Eric Brundage, senior vice president of Allegiance Capital, a Dealmaker of the Year during the Association for Corporate Growth's Dallas Economic Forum this week. Brundage received the title "Best Returns Multiplier" for several transactions he closed for clients, mostly family-owned businesses, between July 2008 and December 2009. Brundage closed three transactions averaging $125 million each during the timeframe.
According to Debbie Bolles, project editor for the Dallas Business Journal, the volume of M&A deals plummeted 27% in 2009. "It is, therefore, fitting that we honor the local dealmakers who brought transactions to a close at a time when getting even one deal done might be considered miraculous," stated Bolles.
"In my view all challenges can be overcome," said Brundage. "The key is to deliver the same 'can-do' spirit to the deal process that our clients have used to build their businesses."
In spite of the tough economy, Allegiance Capital closed transactions worth $500 million in 2009 and has achieved a five-year compound annual growth rate exceeding 50%. The company projects a year-over-year increase in revenues of 60% in 2010 due in part to the expected rise in capital gains taxes.
"Eric has contributed a great deal to the success of Allegiance Capital," said David Mahmood, chairman of the private investment banking firm. "His work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit and financial expertise set a high standard. I'm very proud of the integrity and service he delivers to Allegiance Capital clients."
