Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation Declares June the Month to Join Childhood Cancer Fight
Foundation's national fundraising drive includes support of famous chefs, sponsors and volunteers working toward kids' cancer cures
PHILADELPHIA, Pa., June 3, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Just in time for the summer and "lemonade season," Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is inviting supporters everywhere to join the fight against childhood cancer throughout June. Whether it's hosting an Alex's Lemonade Stand during the Foundation's national fundraising event, Lemonade Days (June 7-9), supporting the Foundation through visiting one of its sponsor fundraisers, or simply showing support through social media outlets, ALSF is on a mission to raise millions of dollars to help find a cure for all kids' cancer.
National Lemonade Days
From Friday, June 7 – Sunday, June 9, thousands of volunteers will host Alex's Lemonade Stands from coast to coast during National Lemonade Days in an effort to raise $1 million for the kids' cancer fight. Utilizing founder Alex Scott's original fundraising idea, the stands will provide a fun and easy way for supporters of all ages to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer while learning the important lesson of giving back.
In 2013, chefs and moms Melissa d'Arabian and Alex Guarnaschelli will lend their support by providing kid-friendly recipes and tips to volunteers who sign up to host a stand during the three day fundraising initiative. The recipes will be included in kits sent to volunteers, while supplies last.
For those not able to host a lemonade stand, ALSF's website allows visitors to search for events by zip code, event name, or host name: www.AlexsLemonade.org/search/alex_search

About Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, ALSF has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of volunteers carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, ALSF, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $60 million toward fulfilling Alex's dream of finding a cure, funding over 300 pediatric cancer research projects nationally.
