Aisle411's Patent Makes Finding Products in Retail Stores Easier by Using Voice Search on a Mobile Device
ST. LOUIS, Oct. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Aisle411, Inc. announced today the issuance by the U.S. Patent Office of its patent that covers locating products in stores using voice search from a communications device.
Filed in May 2012, and based upon the innovative work started in 2008, U.S. Patent No. 9,147,212 (http://tinyurl.com/pkkdpv3) is a Continuation-in-Part of Application Ser. No. 12/134,137, filed on June 5, 2008. This patent is the first in Aisle411's line of patent-pending technology related to using mobile devices inside stores to find products. It covers how to create a robust product taxonomy database including product descriptions, brand names, images of indoor maps, phonetic spelling and synonyms to deliver the proper location of where to find products using voice on a mobile device.
Aisle411 works with many retailers to organize their product data and make it searchable across multiple platforms and devices. This data organization helps the retailer's customers and associates quickly find where products are located in stores.
"Aisle411 has always believed that the path to purchase starts with organizing the product data in the stores to make that data searchable," said Nathan Pettyjohn, Founder and CEO of Aisle411 and one of the inventors listed on the patent. "Aisle411 is very excited to announce this patent, which supports many of the innovations the company has been building since 2008."
Aisle411 has recently announced it is building the "Internet of Stores" which is treating every product location and fixture in every store it works with like a unique webpage generating new analytical insights and advertising attribution for retailers and brands. You can learn about this innovative approach by watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4qYndgjTL8. The video also includes Aisle411's new award winning consumer application called "Shops by Aisle411" which allows shoppers to find products near them based upon their proximity to the product. It is available on IOS and Android devices.
"This patent lays a solid foundation for Aisle411's vision of what shopping can become now," stated Matthew Kulig, Co-founder and COO and inventor. "Aisle411's innovative approach to product data organization, mobile device search integration, proximity technologies, advertising opportunities and new analytic tools changes how retailers and brands can better serve their customers." Also, the company's innovation and vision is featured in a new book: Lethal Generosity, published in September by Shel Israel, which looks at the collision of disruptive innovations taking place in the market currently to build smarter platforms and systems.
Aisle411 expects more patents in its portfolio to issue in the coming months and years and is excited by its opportunities to expand both in the U.S. and internationally in 2016.
