Backed by industry leading companies, the Bluetooth SIG empowers over 17,000 member companies to collaborate, innovate and guide Bluetooth wireless technology.
"We're thrilled to welcome aisle411 into the fast-growing Bluetooth family as they seek to expand the market for indoor positioning solutions through standards-based technologies. The Open Geospatial Consortium is an international association of 468 companies, government agencies and universities participating in a consensus process to develop publicly available interface standards. OGC Standards support interoperable solutions that "geo-enable" the Web, wireless and location-based services and mainstream IT. The standards empower technology developers to make complex spatial information and services accessible and useful with various applications.
"aisle411's expertise with indoor mapping, location and wayfinding will be a valuable contribution to OGC's mobile Internet and location services interoperability efforts, leading to better, more useful indoor geospatial information," said Raj Singh, Director of Interoperability Programs of OGC.
The Open Mobile Alliance was formed in June 2002 by nearly 200 companies representing the world's leading mobile operators, device and network suppliers, information technology companies and content providers. The OMA is designed to be the center of mobile service enabler specification work, helping to create interoperable services across countries, operators and mobile terminals that will meet the needs of the user.
"The OMA members welcome aisle411's expertise with indoor location positioning and way finding, which will be a valuable contribution to OMA's Location Working Group, leading to better, more useful indoor location specifications," said Mark Cataldo, Chairman of the Board at OMA.
